Compuesta por la compositora chino-estadounidense Du Yun y el compositor estadounidense de la etnia navajo (y m\u00fasico ruidista y electr\u00f3nico) Raven Chacon la \u00f3pera se estren\u00f3 el 29 de febrero de 2020 en el Parque Hist\u00f3rico Estatal de Los \u00c1ngeles y tuvo que ser abruptamente cancelada por culpa del covid-19. El equipo creativo reaccion\u00f3 r\u00e1pidamente y convirti\u00f3 la \u00f3pera en cap\u00edtulos audiovisuales, tal y como puede verse actualmente en Internet a trav\u00e9s de la web de la productora <a href=\"https:\/\/theindustryla.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Industry<\/a>, que publicar\u00e1 el \u00e1lbum el 24 de septiembre.<br \/>\nLa \u00f3pera explora el origen de Estados Unidos e inventa el mito elemental de <em>Anfitriones<\/em> y <em>Los Que Llegan<\/em>. Mientras el paisaje natural y los innegables restos de la industrializaci\u00f3n permanecen en silencio, la propia tierra se convierte en personaje central, un crudo alivio para el mundo fant\u00e1stico de un lugar imaginario llamado <em>Sweet Land<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mcana.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Music Critics Association of North America<\/a> has announced, via its online journal <a href=\"https:\/\/classicalvoiceamerica.org\/2021\/08\/26\/sweet-lands-sobering-perspective-on-america-wins-opera-of-the-year\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Classical Voice North America<\/em><\/a>, the title of the winner of its annual award for Best New Opera, which this year went to <em>Sweet Land<\/em>. Composed by Chinese-American composer Du Yun and Navajo-American composer (and noise and electronic musician) Raven Chacon, the opera premiered on 29 February 2020 at the LA State Historic Park and had to be abruptly cancelled due to covid-19. The creative team reacted quickly and turned the opera into audio-visual chapters, as can currently be seen on the Internet through the website of the production company <a href=\"https:\/\/theindustryla.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Industry<\/a>, that will publish the album on September 24th.<br \/>\n<em>Sweet Land<\/em>\u00a0explores the myths surrounding America\u2019s origins by inventing a new, elemental myth of <em>Hosts<\/em> and <em>Arrivals<\/em>.
