Arooj Aftab is a Pakistani neo-Sufi (as she defines herself) minimalist singer/songwriter, born in Saudi Arabia in 1985 but raised in Pakistan, where she lived from the age of eleven to twenty, when she moved to the United States to study at the Berklee College Of Music in Boston.
