World premiere of Oscar Bianchi’s “6 dB”.
The Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra returns to the stage today with a major concert at the extraordinary Seine-side venue of the Maison de la Radio et de la Musique. The concert has the peculiarity of having three different conductors for each of the pieces: Sofi Jeannin will conduct the Scenes of the People, a little-known work by Béla Bartók; Fabien Gabel, who will conduct the magnificent First Symphony by Gustav Mahler, and Marc Desmons, in charge of the world premiere of 6 dB by the Italian-Swiss composer Oscar Bianchi. This is an original and unusual concerto written for six solo double basses and orchestra.
