Mariano Marín, Max Award for Best Score.
The Spanish composer Mariano Marin (Pradoluengo, 1959) has won the Max Award for Best Musical Composition for a Stage Show for his score for the play Con lo bien que estábamos (Ferretería Esteban), unveiled last night at the XXIV edition of the Max Awards ceremony held at the Arriaga Theatre in Bilbao. Marín has been arranger, producer or piano player on records by Paco Ibañez or Carmen Linares, and has accompanied Chicho Sánchez Ferlosio, Amancio Prada or José Mercé on live piano. A theatre and film composer, he has worked on more than 70 plays with directors such as Natalia Menéndez, Adolfo Fernández, Alvaro Lavín, Gerardo Vera, Tamzin Towsend, etcetera. He has composed music for several feature films, such as Tesis or Abre los ojos, by Alejandro Amenábar, or Cuarteto de La Habana, by Fernado Colomo.
