John Adams conducts a minimalist programme.
This weekend, Friday and Saturday, the American composer and conductor John Adams will conduct the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and the pianists Katia and Marielle Labèque in two concerts to be held in the Dutch port city (Friday 15, De Doelen hall) and in Utrecht (Saturday 16th, in the TivoliVredenburg), with a programme of minimalist music consisting of Steve Reich’s Three Movements, Philip Glass’ Concerto for Two Pianos and John Adams’ Naive and Sentimental Music.
