World premieres by New Century Chamber Orch.

The New Century Chamber Orchestra presents today, 4 November, at the First Congregational Church in the Californian city of Berkeley, a programme focusing on contemporary pieces for cello, with the presence of the famous soloist Jeffrey Zeigler. The programme will feature two world premieres by very different composers. On the one hand, In Me, the version that the Italian composer Paola Prestini (Zeigler’s wife) has made of a work by the Inuit singer Tanya Tagaq, and on the other Last Year, a concerto for solo cello, with harp, piano and string and percussion orchestra, by the American composer Mark Adamo (Philadelphia, 1962), known for his operas Little Women, Lysistrata and The Gospel of Mary Magdalene.
