South African sound art and electronic music composer Mira Calix dies of unknown causes.
Electronic music composer and producer Mira Calix, one of the most respected figures on the European scene, died on Monday, according to her record label, Warp Records, which did not disclose the cause of death. Born Chantal Francesca Passamonte in South Africa in 1970, she began living in England in 1991. Five years later she began her professional career in the world of music, first in the field of IDM on the Warp Records label and, subsequently, with an experimental trajectory linked to sound art. Today you can read my complete obituary of the South African composer on the Rockdelux website. The Rockdelux website is free to visit, but registration is required.
