Britta Byström debuta en los Proms de la BBC.
Tomorrow, 10 August, Swedish composer Britta Byström (Sundsvall, 1977) will make her debut at the famous BBC Proms concerts at the Royal Albert Hall in London. It will be the world premiere of Parallel Universes, with John Storgårds conducting the BBC Philarmonic Orchestra and Dutch violinist Liza Ferschtman.
The piece is a BBC commission in celebration of the 150th anniversary of the Royal Albert Hall and reflecting on the hall’s role in promoting the arts and science over the years (as depicted in the mosaic frieze around the building’s exterior). The composer has chosen contemporary science as her inspiration for the work.
