Ensemble Lux: NM premieres Spanish authors.
The thirteenth edition of the Ciclo de Música Actual de Badajoz, co-produced by the Sociedad Filarmónica de Badajoz and the Centro Nacional de Difusión Musical (CNDM), begins today in Badajoz. The Berlin ensemble LUX:NM will be in charge of opening the event with a performance at 20:30 in the Museo Extremeño e Iberoamericano de Arte Contemporáneo (MEIAC), with a programme that will include world premieres by the Basque composer Javier Quislant (An der Schwelle) and the Malaga composer and orchestra conductor Carolina Cerezo (Habitación en penumbra: un estudio sobre escucha, figuras y enmascaramiento), both commissioned by the CNDM. The programme is completed with works by Jan Brauer, Daniel Brandt, Charlotte Seither and Milica Djordjevic. The same programme will be performed tomorrow, Saturday, in Portugal, at the municipal cinema-theatre in the town of Elvas. The series, which will last until 13 May 2022, will offer a total of thirteen concerts, with as many world premieres and an ambitious didactic programme aimed at children and young people, which in this edition has been reinforced with the I Encuentro Ibérico de Música Contemporánea, with Spanish and Portuguese participants.
