UNESCO celebrates the International Day of the Victims of the Holocaust with Jorge Grundman’s piece “Shoah”.
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, UNESCO, has chosen the work Shoah for Solo Violin and Sacred Temple Op.87, by the Madrid composer Jorge Grundman, for the events celebrating the International Day of the Victims of the Holocaust. Although the International Day… is tomorrow, Friday 27 January, the concert will take place this afternoon at UNESCO headquarters in Paris. The work will be performed by Romanian violinist Robert Davidovici, the son of Nazi extermination camp survivors. The ceremony will be attended by UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay and the Chairman of the Shoah Memorial, Eric de Rothschild. During the ceremony, Grundman will give a short speech.
