SEMINCI premieres a documentary on Halffter.
Tonight, at 22:15, the premiere of the documentary Halffter: 90 compases, directed by the Spanish filmmaker Juan Vicente Chuliá, will take place at the Broadway cinemas in Valladolid, as part of the 66th Valladolid International Film Week (Seminci). In 78 minutes, the film traces the life and legacy of the Spanish composer Cristóbal Halffter, who died on 23 May last, before the production of the documentary was completed.
In addition to the words of Halffter himself, interviewed at his residence in Villafranca del Bierzo and at the Madrid headquarters of the Juan March Foundation, his work is analysed by leading figures from the world of music, including the musicologist and director of the Music Programme of the Juan March Foundation, Miguel Ángel Marín; the composer and essayist Tomás Marco; the orchestra conductor José Luis Temes and the composer’s son and musician, Pedro Halffter Caro.
