The ninth edition of Morada Sónica begins.
The Andalusian city of Almería hosts from today, Friday, the ninth edition of the Morada Sónica International Festival, which will be held over the next two weekends, on 12 and 13 and 19 and 20 November.
The festival begins today, Friday, at 20:00, at the Escuela Municipal de Música y Artes de Almería with a performance by the dancer Ana Arenas and the sound artist and experimental free improvisation musician Wade Matthews. Then, at 21:00, Juan Crek – co-founder with Víctor Nubla of the electronic music group Macromassa – resumes the Macromassa activity in homage to Nubla, who died in the spring of 2020, with “the presence/absence of Víctor Nubla in an original format”, as can be read on the festival’s website. Tomorrow it will be the turn, at the same time, at the Guitar Museum, for the Octophonic Concert by Eduardo Polonio -pioneer of Spanish electronic music- and a conference – Composing with the eye, filming with the ear, by the cultural critic Marcelo Expósito.
On the 19th, at 21:00, Erizonte, the band led by Julián Sanz Escalona, will perform at EMMA, offering a concert of experimental rock. The festival will conclude on Saturday 20th at the Museo de la Guitarra de Almería, with the conference Desarrollos Geométricos by the cultural manager and record publisher Andrés Noarbe -founder of Rotor Discos-, at 17:30 and, from 20:00, performances by the legendary Spanish industrial rock bands Comando Bruno and Esplendor Geométrico, and the Almeria-based techno pop band El Escuadrón.
In addition to being seen live, all the activities will be broadcast on the streaming channel of the website and the Morada Sónica YouTube channel.
