Candidates for the Goya for Best Original Score.

The Spanish Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced this morning the nominations for the best Spanish films of 2021. The thirty-sixth edition of the Goya Awards will take place on 12 February 2022 at an awards ceremony to be held at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia.

In the category of Best Original Score, the candidates are Zeltia Montes, for El buen patrón, a film directed by Fernando León de Aranoa; the Kuwaiti Fatima Al Qadiri, for La abuela, by Paco Plaza; Alberto Iglesias, eleven times winner of the Goya in this category – and once in Cannes, for Dolor y gloria, and in Venice, for Pasos de baile, as well as three times nominated for the Oscars – for Maixabel, by Iciar Bollain, and Arnau Bataller, for Mediterráneo, by Marcel Barrena.
