As part of the programme of the XIII Ciclo de Música Actual de Badajoz, tomorrow Tuesday at 20:30 in the auditorium of the Diputación de Badajoz, the Trio Isimsiz will give the world premiere of the Trio for piano, by the Spanish composer Francisco Coll. It is commissioned by the Centro Nacional de Difusión Musical (CNDM) in collaboration with the Aldeburgh Festival. The composer and conductor Francisco Coll (Valencia, 1985) has an internationally renowned career: in 2019 he received the Composer Prize at the ICMAs and just a week ago he was awarded, again at the ICMAs, the Orchestra Prize and the prize for the best recording of contemporary music, for his album Orchestral Works.
The concert programme is completed by Wolfgang Rihm’s Fremde Szene III, Lili Boulanger’s D’un soir triste, Toru Takemitsu’s Between Tides and Dmitri Shostakovich’s Trio for violin, cello and piano No. 2 in E minor, op. 67. The Isimsiz Trio was founded in 2009 at the Guildhall School of Music and is formed by the Spanish violinist Pablo Hernán Benedí, the Bulgarian cellist Michael Petrov and the English pianist Erdem Misirlioglu.
