Marc Grey’s “Birds in the Moon” comes to L. A.

After the world premiere in New York last May of the chamber opera Birds in the Moon – composed by the American Mark Grey (Evanston, Illinois, 1967), with a libretto by his regular collaborator in his latest productions, the Catalan Júlia Canosa i Serra – the West Coast premiere took place yesterday, Wednesday, with performances in the unusual location of the car park of lot 27 in Santa Monica, Los Angeles, which will end on Sunday. The unusual production is performed in a shipping container that can be quickly assembled for outdoor performances almost anywhere.
